When All The Spring Flowers Came At Once

A set of four new pieces now on display at the Biscuit factory in Newcastle

My work is currently available in The Biscuit Factory gallery, here in Newcastle. Smaller pieces and reproductions are available in Just Canny on the fabulous independent shopping street, Park View, in Whitley Bay.

I am delighted to have been accepted to show my work at Alnmouth Arts Festival this June – on the weekend of 17th & 18th – a Father’s Day treat outing? Alnmouth is a gorgeous coastal village in Northumberland and this Festival weekend is always very special!

Journey Mapping

Small abstract textiles from my current series, Journey Mapping. These pieces explore the feeling of being in the landscape, exploring the environment and taking time to absorb the unique sights and sounds of each place. I work from notes and drawings taken during my walks in the landscape to create these unique small artworks. Each piece measures 10 x 10cm approximately and is framed in a white glazed box frame measuring 20 x 20 cm

Walking along the high coast path and looking down on to the crashing waves below.

This Land Rises All the Way To The Sky

Applique and free machine embroidery with needlefelted clouds.

This piece was inspired by visits to the Borders, with willow herb in full bloom across the fields. There was such a sense of openess about the scenery – as if the green hills were only stopped by the sky.

Work exploring the beauty and tenacity of wild flowers in urban settings, these flowers grow on the cycle path I take into town.

Three dimensional textile sculptures with a seaside theme.

These form part of my workshop offer
