Creative Workshop preparation on the table today- turns out the Angel and I have both been in the North East for 20 years! That’s got to be worth celebrating 😊
I was actually on the hill in Gateshead on the day the Angel was installed, seeing it rise up was amazing- I think our tribute pose even got us on Look North that evening 🤣

So it seems fitting that I’ll be running this workshop to make a mini Angel in September, celebrating 20 years of the iconic North East sculpture- more details to follow 😄

I am a professional textile artist specializing in Appliqué and Free Motion machine stitching. In order to create a unique colour palette, I hand dye my own fabrics and then use these to create the landscapes and coastal scenes recorded in my sketchbook.
I often incorporate recycled or vintage fabrics in my work - they add meaning to the story the work is telling.
I love being so close to the Northumbrian coast and countryside and I especially like taking time walk and draw these stunning landscapes

Donna, when I visited the U.K. in 2004, I saw the angel. It left me full of wonder and awe. So stunning in its setting. I love it!

It’s a great sight isn’t it? I love to spot it from the car or train- a lovely notifier that I’m home 😊
