Holy T Art Fair

Just back from Carlisle Arts Fair and busy planning my next event…I know it’s not for few weeks but it’s September tomorrow and I’ll soon be back to juggling school runs, workshops and stitchery time so I need to keep on track…

The Holy T Art Fair is a new event featuring artists from the Newcastle Hub of Network Artists North East. It will be a great opportunity for you to meet and talk to 25 different artists – and maybe purchase something as a treat for you or your loved ones! The Holy Trinity Church is easy to find as it’s just at the end of Armstrong Bridge in Jesmond. And if you do have to travel to get there…there’s a cafe!
I’m hoping to get some new pieces done between now and then, lots of Summer sketches waiting to be developed in appliqué and stitch, so I’ll be posting developments here…

In the meantime, here’s one of my mini beach huts – very popular at Carlisle!

I am a professional textile artist specializing in Appliqué and Free Motion machine stitching. In order to create a unique colour palette, I hand dye my own fabrics and then use these to create the landscapes and coastal scenes recorded in my sketchbook. I often incorporate recycled or vintage fabrics in my work - they add meaning to the story the work is telling. I love being so close to the Northumbrian coast and countryside and I especially like taking time walk and draw these stunning landscapes
